Questions About Nursing Positions

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

1.	What type of positions do you have available? We place Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants and some Allied Health Professionals. All applicants must have a minimum of 1 year of recent experience in an acute care setting. Some client’s have different requirements for the level of experience an agency temp should have. So please call the office if you have any questions.
2.	What type of clients/facilities do you send your staff too? We staff only acute care settings such as hospitals and clinics.
3.	How much do you pay per hour? Emerald City Medical Staffing, Inc has simplified our pay structure. We do not pay based on years of experience since all client agreements have the same language regarding what kind of experience an agency temp should have. We have straight pay that may vary slightly based on the facility you are working at. Details are available at the office.
4.	What is a nursing agency? A nursing agency is a temporary placement company that contracts with their clients, then hires medical professionals and staffs them at the facilities based on the clients’ needs.
5.	Am I obligated to work a specific amount of hours to maintain employment with your company? No. However, once you have submitted your availabilities and our office has submitted this to a client, you can not change the availability. Once a temp is booked and confirmed with a client, you can not change this booking, pull out of the booking or cancel the booking. We will under certain circumstances do what we can to replace a temp should they have a schedule conflict. If a temp remains inactive for more than 30 days, then Emerald City Medical Staffing, Inc considers this the same as a self termination. Should the temp decide to schedule themselves again, then they are reactivated in our system.
6.	What are your office hours? Actual office hours are Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm. We are always available 24 hours a day all year via phone.
7.	Is overtime ever available? Yes, Overtime for Emerald City Medical Staffing, Inc. are hours worked over 40 hours in the pay period. All overtime must be pre-approved by the client and the office.
8.	How often do you pay? We pay weekly every Friday. Our pay periods are 1 week behind. So when you are paid on Friday it is for the previous work week. Our pay periods are Sunday through Saturday. There is a client or two that are slightly different. However we monitor this for the temps, so they do not have to. We have the options of receiving your paycheck via Mail (sent out on Wednesday’s so you have it by Friday), Pick Up or Direct Deposit.
9.	What is your service area? We service the greater Puget Sound area.
